DIGITAL VIDEO INSTALLATION and DIGITAL PRINTS

LOCATION: HIVA-OA - FRENCH POLYNESIA

This collection of videos is improvisational and was filmed during a trip to French Polynesia in 1999. These 'video-segments' show the spirit of an island, which inspired and influenced Paul Gauguin. His artistic spirit has transformed Hiva-Oa - fusing art with nature.

The installation reveals a 'experiential' video. Several 'video-segments' are projected simultaneously with different scene-units. The space is a 'total projection environment'. The viewer, while walking through space, is surrounded by projections and through their natural impulses and own memories develop connections between scenes.
